My Painting for Imaginary

Going Ape for Bananas

Chimpanzee: "Orang you glad I didn't say banana again?!"

Person: "Monkeys eating bananas. That's original."

Me: "Yes, but these are apes."

Person: "Touche."

Not Imaginary.

Unicorns are not imaginary.  They just made up that rumor after people found out that they tasted like bacon.

This is why I should not procrastinate and do my sketch blog picture while sleep deprived and over-tired....

Challenge: Imaginary

First of all, thanks to those who have drawn and stuck around. A BIG thank you to Lisa Price for helping with posting the Retro challenge while I was too busy being overwhelmed by Class 2. But hey, this is a new semester with a new schedule and new drawing challenges! Yay!

Draw the dream! Our new theme is...

Imaginary!

This drawing challenge is due Sunday, April 10th.

Doodle hard! Don't forget you can always submit drawings from past themes as well! :)

Retro AM

Ha! I thought we were to apply the theme to Spike! Oh well! It was fun to sketch this up anyway!

I took a lot of inspiration from the early Mickey Mouse cartoons and retro Disney memorabilia, as well as some of that 70's retro style for the font. I figured I'd make it like an old postcard or collector's image for AM if it were around back then. Kinda like finding an old Disneyland postcard now and getting that nostalgia feeling that comes with that cool retro style.

Retro-"This is Bob Barker, reminding you to help control the pet population..."

There aren't many things more retro to me than The Price is Right.  It was always a dream of mine to go on the show and meet Bob, and maybe play some Plinko.  Unfortunately that dream will never be....

Retro:FF6

At first, I wasn't sure what to do but then I remembered: I just made this Terra sprite not too long ago out of perler beads. I need more of those so I can make the whole set.

Happy 25th Anniversary, Link!

Can't go wrong with classic Zelda! Always wanted the old Gleeoks to reappear in a full 3D game too. Maybe in Skyward Sword... fingers crossed.

Challenge:Retro

Theme for this next challenge is:

RETRO!

Do you have a favorite classic game? Are you still a fan of the Walkman? This time around, we're celebrating any and all things retro so getting sketching and have fun!

Drawings are due in 2 weeks on February 27th! And as always, everyone is welcome to do past challenges as well.

Note: Katie's been pretty busy with her new job so I offered to jump in and help her out. If you guys have any theme ideas you'd love to seen in a future poll, let one of us know.

-Lisa

It's not easy.

The unexpected green addition

Green with Envy!

This is my first submission. Hope ya'll like it. I'm Ken.

Green and Gold

I have been a bad sketcher. But I saw this challenge (about an hour and a half before it was due) and couldn't let the opportunity pass. I've frankly been waiting for an excuse to draw everyone's favorite green Starfleet cadet. I've sworn off pencils for a while. I erase and redo lines too much.

Sometimes it's not easy being green.

Green

In hindsight, I shoulda done the Hulk. Photoshop coloring practice here.

Green

I'm bad with abstract ideas so nothing creative or elaborate this week.

Challenge: Green

Are you feeling well? Jealous of your best friends boyfriend's new shoes? Or maybe your carbon footprint is looking so fabulously low! Whatever you interpret this lovely color as, this week's theme is...

Green!

(Personally, this is my favorite kind of green.) This drawing challenge is due Sunday, January 30th.

Good luck! Don't forget you can always submit drawings from past themes as well! :)
